Troop 221 – Plano, TX
We strive to provide all that the Scouting program has to offer with a specific focus on Character, Adventure and Leadership.
Troop 221 builds character in our scouts by adhering to the principles of Scouting: The Scout Motto and Slogan, The Scout Oath and Law, and the Outdoor Code.
Scouting is a 6 to 7-year journey. It requires determination, persistence, resilience, tenacity, and courage. We have high expectations for the way scouts should behave and treat one another. Our scouts are accountable to the troop and to each other.
Troop 221 seeks adventure by encouraging our Scouts to plan and execute challenging outings.
We camp every month, from Scout camps to state campgrounds. We send two or more crews to Scout BSA High Adventure Programs each summer. Adventures, from canoeing and backpacking to wilderness survival and cooking competitions, keep older scouts engaged. Over the years, the scouts of Troop 221 have enriched their lives and broadened their skills through a variety of life-changing adventures.
Troop 221 believes the only way to develop leadership is to practice leadership.
Our boys lead the program with coaching and mentoring by adults who are keenly interested in their growth and development. We provide annual leadership training and continuously encourage the boys to make the most of their time as youth leaders.
